going home after 4 months

So, as you know after celebrating Christmas with my host family in England I went home for a few days. I left about 9 o'clock to take trains, tubes and a bus to gatwick. I was so terrified that something would go wrong but it went perfect. I made it and I even survived waiting 5 hours at the airport for my flight. I was so tired you won't believe it. After traveling through London for nearly four hours, waiting at the airport for five and flying for two I was pretty exhausted but happy to land in Berlin. I got a little- okay let's be honest a massive push of energy because I got so excited. Understandable right? But of course we had to drive for about fiveteen minutes to get to the gate and OF COURSE it was the last one!! It took me ages to even get to the security and I was walking very fast, nearly running because I just wanted to see my family. After being asked at the security if the little boy running around in front of me would be mine and running for another five minutes I finally made it out. I knew that my mum couldn't come cause it was too late for my little brother to stay up so only my dad would be there. But when I got out I saw one of the best friends of my parents standing there which I kind of knew would happen. I dropped my bag on the floor and cried because I finally made it. Everyone looked at me it was so funny but I was so happy!! We went out of the airport and my dad came with the car, it was such a good feeling, I can't describe it. At home I took my dads keys and run to our house, I nearly fell upstairs haha 😂. After saying hi to my mum and waking up my cat to cuddle I finally ate some food. God I missed that. We sat down and watched a film, it had German subtitle in some parts and I literally sat there read it and asked my parents what it meant. I don't know if it was because I had such a long day or because I haven't spoken German in four months but yeah I failed a little bit, my parents had fun tho...
The next day my best friend came over, the last time I saw her was about 5 months ago and we cried so much saying goodbye it was horrible. We literally screamed in each other's ears of excitement hugging each other. ❤️ We went into town for a little bit to buy me some clothe for my interviews the next day and also met two very good friends.

After saying goodbye again me and my family made our way to the Baltic Sea.
The next day started with my first interview on the phone, it went good but I'll have a second phone call so not quite done yet. After that I went to an five star hotel for another interview and god this hotel is amazing! To stay there for just one night it would have cost us 960€! ONE night!!!

These are just some pictures I took, this place is massive and so amazing!

After I had my interviews I took off my high heels and we went to see my grandparents who live at the Baltic Sea. We told my grandpa we're coming and we surprised my grandma when she got home from work. It was such a great feeling! I love her so much and seeing her face when she came upstairs "to get something" for my grandpa was just amazing. 🙈 After being there for a little while we made our way home. I was so exhausted it was such a long day!

After Tuesday I got very ill. I was ill before but then it got even worse. I didn't even manage to go and see one of my best friends because I felt so bad. So I spend my time in bed pretty much before me and my family went out bowling with some friends.
Thursday I went to see my grandparents and as it was New Year's Eve that day friends of my parents came over. It was so nice! At midnight we went out to do some fireworks, I loved it! I get way too excited for them...Also them fireworks seem to like me as I got hit by one in the eye. Wasn't the best thing to be fair as it completely knocked me out. I was doing okay for 30 minutes but then I felt very weird and nearly fainted so yeah...good start into 2016! I felt better after a few minutes and still had a good time.

At the same day I went back to England. I felt like I had a complete hangover even tho I didn't even get drunk as I was ill 😅👍🏻
So I said good bye again to my family which was heartbreaking but okay. (Didn't cry this time haha 💪🏻) I was just glad when I finally arrived back here after travelling all the way through London again and was happy to go to bed to be fair. So all in one I had a good time but quite exhausting. And way too short! But I'll be back home soon and until then I'll enjoy my time here with my amazing host family and friends I made here! Which I am very thankful for! 💘

My first english Christmas 🎄

It´s been such a while!! Time is absolutely running here and I can´t believe nearly half of my exchange is already over. Not too much changed since my last post. I´m still going to college and my friends are still as weird as in the beginning, but that´s why I love them. I was in town a while ago with a good friend, we went to Costa to have a drink, (mine a was absolutely not nice!!!) and somehow he managed to loose his contact lens in his eye. Don´t ask me how he managed that even he doesn´t know how! (Shout out to you Dylan, you even managed to do it twice!!). So we went to get that fixed, I´ll promise you one thing, I´ve seen nicer things! At least he got it out so we didn´t need to go to the hospital to lift his eye lid up....just the thought of that makes me shiver.
Oh and I also finally got my nose pierced! I wanted to do it for ages and in November I finally did, but I had to take it out again after just a little while because of upcoming interviews...such a shame I loved it!
But yeah, other than that nothing too exciting happened,  not that I can remember right now.

In Germany we celebrate Christmas on the 24th of December, in the evening. Before that we have lunch and dinner with the family and so on. This year me and my host family celebrated a little German Christmas for me at the 24th, I opened presents my family sent me and for dinner we had some Schnitzel. I felt very German, a very happy German!

The next morning we opened stockings (basically massive socks!). With the rest we waited until my host dad would be back from work, my host mums parents came over and we had Christmas dinner, with obviously food and them Christmas crackers. It wasn´t too different expect the day if I´m honest. I had a nice time.
Both of these days I skyped with different parts of my family, it was weird to not be with them but it was good to see them after so long, even if it was just over Skype. Also it didn't really feel like Christmas at all this year. It was warm like it was in September, even tho we baled Christmas cookies and everything it didn't help. I'm glad I wasn't the only one feeling not festive at all, maybe next time. 😉
The 26th was the last day for me in England for 2015, because I went home after four months for some interviews and to celebrate New Year's with my family. I've may been a bit to worried about the upcoming journey, I had to travel through London for about 3 1/2 hours and needed to change three times. I was so scared as I never traveled through London like this before and not on my own either but I can spoil one thing, I made it and I survived!! 😉 The five hours waiting at the airport for my flight nearly killed me tho, I've never been so bored and tired! But I'll tell you about it all in my next post!
Until then, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas whoever you celebrated it with and also happy new year to all of you! 🎉
