Now, me and the other Exchange students were on our way to Winchester where it all began.
After I was able to stop crying I was able to catch up with my friends.
After the long journey I finally saw my friends again which I haven´t seen in the last 10 months because they lived their exchange too far away to visit them. After big hellos and lots of emotions we got ready for our farwell prom. We got given our certificates, listened to a speech and had dinner in the cantine. It was lovely and got even better when we started our party. Good music, a photobooth and a lot of fun! It was a blast and I love remembering then fun we had!
After a long fun day and some heartbreaking goodbyes it was time to leave the next day. We packed up our bags and get into the bus. It felt weird leaving but it was time to see my family again and my friends. At the airport we had to wait for five hours, don´t ask me why we´ve been there so early- I´m asking myself that question still! In that time I said goodbye to one of my best friends- Andrea! She was ready to leave for Denmark. We said goodbye and looked at each other, instead of crying like you would usually do when you say goodbye we laughed. We both said that if we could we would cry our eyes out but we both had such an emotional week behind us, we were way too exhausted. But I personally think it was nice. And also, we already knew we would see eachother soon again, so it was all good.
After hours and hours of waiting and one hour delay we finally got our gate. After probably one more hour of checking in and finding our seats we finally sat in our plane. The flight was good actually! We talked a lot with other students about our exchange and had a good laugh together.
After about two hours we finally arrived. Me and my friend Jule (3rd picture above) said one last time how great the last year was and how much we already wanted to go back, got our suitcases and went out of the gate to see our families.
I took one last deep breath and finished the last chapter of my exchange. My family made a banner for me and stood there with balloons. It was nice seeing them but at the same time it was so weird because I was gone for so long.
I said hello to my family and my best friend and then pretty quick fell asleep on the way home from the airport. Being home was such a weird feeling. I couldn´t even unpack the first week. I didn´t want my exchange to be over and I felt if I unpack my suitcase it would be. Even tho it already was..It took me a pretty long time to realise and get over it but after a while I started to feel better. It is still heartbreaking but I managed to handle it by now. I´m looking forward to go back and see my Hostfamily and friends and just visit a very important place which I can call home.
